MRS. SAM ALLEN DIES IN DALLAS
Mrs. Sam H. Allen, nee Agnes Louise Spears, was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas on November 2, 1915, the daughter of Luther Lenard Spears and Mattye DeArmond Spears. She died Thursday May 28, 1998.
Mrs. Allen attended Henderson State Teachers College in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and the University of Texas at Austin. She was for many years as active member of the Park Cities Baptist Church working extensively with the Language and Culture Group teaching conversational English to internationals in the Dallas area. Other organization with which she enjoyed a long association were the Echo Luncheon Club, the Cosmos Review Club, and the Dallas Knife and Fork Club.
Following a private burial the memorial service was conducted Monday, June 1, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ellis Chapel of Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas. Dr. Tom Meigs officiated at the service.
She is survived by her husband; three sons, Sam H. Allen III, Walter Michael Allen, and James Timothy Allen; and two grand children. The late Walter and Stella "Toy" Fairman, longtime
residents of Goldthwaite were the aunt and uncle of Sam Allen.
