Esther Emma Allen was born to the late Charley and Emma (Mahlmann) Tiemann November 30, 1920 at Rosenberg, Texas. She died in Ardmore, Oklahoma February 12, 2007 at the age of 86 years, 2 months and 12 days. Esther had lived in Ardmore for three years coming here from Corpus Christi, Texas.
She and Arthur Weldon Allen were married May 21, 1947 at Brenham, Texas. He preceded her in death January 4, 1988.
A resident of Corpus Christi for over forty years, Esther performed manicures on her many and special customers at the Sheraton Hotel, at Mr. Richard's Salon and most recently the Looking Glass Salon. She also loved to cross-stitch quilts and particularly loved spending time in her garden. Of the Lutheran faith, Esther attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Ardmore with her daughter and family.
She is survived by a son, Charles William Allen and his wife, Marta of Aledo, Texas; a daughter, Kathryn Ann Maloy and her husband, Gene of Ardmore, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren: Eric Maloy and his wife, Diana, and Regina Maloy of Dallas, Texas; Everly, Jace, Natalie, Aubree and Reese Allen, Aledo, Texas; three great-grandchildren: Ashton, Ava and Chase Maloy, Dallas, Texas; a brother, Clamens and his wife, Ora Nell, Tiemann, Brenham, Texas; a niece, four nephews, several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Adeline and Lee Koehler.
Funeral services for Esther Emma Allen were held Feb. 15 in the Trinity Lutheran Church of Ardmore, Oklahoma. Graveside rites were held Feb. 16 in Seaside Memorial Park, Corpus Christi, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers: Larry Eschenbacher, Harlen Seeliger, David Maloy, Eric Malory, Jace Allen and Reese Allen. Bill Carter and Robert Hanna was honorary bearers.
