ALGER - Mrs. Martha Ann Howard, 59, wife of Lark Howard, Alger, died at 8 p.m. Friday in Hardin Memorial hospital, Kenton of spinal meningitis. She had been ill one week.
She was born in Knot-co, Ky., and resided in Alger the last three years.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Beverley of Kenton, Mrs. Pearl Howard of Decoy, Ky., and Mrs. Arkey Hoover of Garrett, Ky.; a son, Alonzo Shepherd of Kenton; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Beckam Allen and Troy Allen of Indiana, and Alfred of Kentucky.
The body will remain in the Hanson funeral home where friends may call after noon Sunday. The Rev. Andrew Allen will officiate for services at 2 p.m. Monday in the Alger Baptist church. Burial will be in Preston cemetery.
