Adam Allen, 77, Alger, died Sept. 13, 1999 at Lost Creek Care Center, Lima.
He was born Feb. 6, 1922, in Grove, Okla., to Hayden and Cynthia (Waddle) Allen. He was formerly married to Marie Nichols, and she survives in Alger.
Survivors also include one son, Raymond (Linda) Allen of Westminster; three daughters, Linda (Pete) Pedersen of Ada, Barbara (Walter) Molands of Alger, and Judi (Gary) Bradley of Kenton; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Patsy (Buster) Nichols of Lima.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Tom, Harvey, Jimmy, Roger and Green Allen; and two sisters, Eva Thurman and Mary Evadean Neeley.
Mr. Allen was a carpenter, retiring in 1986 from Reese Construction Company and Harpers Construction Company of Napoleon. He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 372 of Lima. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, having served in Normandy where he was an ambulance driver. He was a life member of VFW Post 1275 of Lima.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home in Alger, with the Rev. George Pirtle officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 24 and 68 p.m. and until time of service on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita's Hospice of Lima.
