Evelyn M. Allen (nee Rains), 93, of Zion died Saturday, October 7, 2000 in Waukegan.
    She was born July 6, 1907 in New York City to the late Frederick and Florence Rains, and has been a resident of Illinois since 1926, and Zion since 1953. She was a former member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Waukegan and the Christian Assembly of God Church in Zion. In later years, she attended the Grace Missionary Church in Zion. She had worked at Abbott Laboratories and America Can, and later at Dan Miller Motors.
    She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Joan Levine of Indianapolis, Indiana; three grandchildren, Linda (Jeffery) McLaughlin of Indianapolis, and Judith (David) Short and Paul (Jeanine) Levine, both of New Palestine, Indiana; and eight grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her son, Lawrence Levine.
    Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2000 at 2 PM at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion with the Rev. William Swanger officiating. Entombment will be in Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
    Visitation will be at time of service.
