Mrs. Annie Mae Allen, 96, of LaGrange died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009 at Hospice LaGrange.
Funeral services are planned for Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 11:30 a.m. at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church in LaGrange with the Revs. Claire Yoder and Bob Humphries and Mr. Clay Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Allen is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ann A. Smith of LaGrange and Vaunita (George V.) Ashmore of Union, S.C.; grandchildren and their spouses, Marianne (Michael) Haney of Lake Murray, S.C., George (Jean) Ashmore of Greenville, S.C., Jerry (Tina) Ashmore of Port Royal, S.C., William (Janet) Ashmore of Newton, S.C.; Peter (Lisa) Smith of Birmingham, Ala., Jerry (Melinda) Smith of LaGrange and Jennifer "Jenny" (Bill) Williams of LaGrange; great-grandchildren, Anna (Ryan) Smith, Allison Smith and Anna Kathryn (Chris) Moyers, all of Birmingham, Clay Williams, Matthew (Casey) Williams and Brandon Wright, all of LaGrange, Daniel and Jacob Ashmore, both of Greenville, Ellie, Kat and Tori Ashmore of Port Royal, Amanda (Sean) Lucas and Tucker Posey, all of Beaufort, S.C., and Ady (Sam) Ashmore of Newbern, S.C.; and a great-great-grandson, Wesley Kennon Williams.
Born Dec. 22, 1912 in Randolph County, Mrs. Allen was the daughter of the late George and Emily E. Cofield Rice. She was a member of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church.
The family asks that all flowers be omitted and contributions be made to Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church in LaGrange or Bethel United Methodist Church, Lockhart Highway, Union, S.C.
Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home of Valley is handling arrangements.
