BLACKSHEAR Archie Brantley Allen, 52, died early Sunday morning (Aug. 6, 2006) at Satilla Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness.

A native and life-long resident of Pierce County, he was a self-employed truck driver working for Thom's Transport.

He was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Allen.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Rozier Allen, of Blackshear; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rozanna and Bobby Russell and Laura and Jeremy Ballou, all of Blackshear; his mother, Margaret Jacobs Long, of Rincon; three sisters, Sheryl (Michael) Causey, of South Carolina, Betty (Frank) Colvert, of Mobile, Ala., and Sally (R.B.) Thomas, of Augusta; three brothers, Kenneth (Donna) Allen Jr., of Acworth, and Richard (Cindy) Allen and Joseph (Danna) Allen, all of Blackshear; his father-in-law, Franklin Rozier Sr., of Blackshear; four grandchildren, Ethan Teston, Jonathan Russell, Allee Russell and Mailey Ballou; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 11 at the St. Johns United Methodist Church.

Burial will be in the St. Johns Cemetery.

Visitation will be this evening from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online register at www.pearsontreadwell.com. Memorials may be made to St. Johns United Methodist Church Building Fund, 8157 Clark Road, Blackshear, Ga. 31516. Pearson-Treadwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
