William Allen Sr.
Hortense—William "Aubrey" Allen Sr., 62, of Hortense died Saturday at his residence after an extended illness.
The former Beaufort, S.C., resident had lived in Brantley County the past 20
years. He was a retired roofer and a Baptist.
He was predeceased by a son, Robert Todd, and a granddaughter, Heather
Lane Allen.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Patsy Ann Reynolds Allen of Hortense;
five daughters and sons-in-law, Melanie Lynn and Charles Bell of Hinesville,
Melissa Barbara Allen of Bloomingdale, Teressa and Luis Carreon of
Waynesville, Shearl Lynn and Matt Ouzts of Homer, and Ronda Owens and
Steve Howard of St. Simons Island; three sons and daughters-in-law, William
Aubrey and Leanne Allen Jr. of Brunswick, Eugene "Buddy" and Angie Allen of
Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Charles M. and Heather Posey of Birmingham; four
sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Wade Aldridge, Barbara and Freddy
Dismuke, Scherril Allen, and Juanita and Junior Googe, all of Metter; four
brothers and sisters-in-law, Horace and Sharon Allen of Sardis, Aaron and
Joanne Allen of Springfield, Ernest and Paulette Allen of Alma, Bobby Ray Allen
of Bristol; 24 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Feb. 5 from Rinehart and Sons Chapel with the Rev.
Terry Sellars officiating. Interment was in Lake Chapel Cemetery. Active
pallbearers were Sammy Rogers, Matt Ouzts, Luis Carreon, Cohen Beasley,
Lamar Durrance and Steve Howard.
Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
