Charlie M. Allen III of Havana, Fla., left us late Sunday afternoon, Feb. 22, 2009. Charlie had been a diabetic since his early 20s and died from complications. Charlie spent his early years in Largo, Fla., and moved to Tallahassee in 1975. He graduated from Leon High School in 1977 and Tallahassee Community College in 1981. He spent his professional life in Tallahassee, employed by several state of Florida agencies and was last employed by the Rainey Cawthon Co. Charlie attended the Kingdom Hall in Havana, Fla. Charlie is survived by his wife, Janete Allen; mother, Joan Cundiff Allen; father, Charles M. Allen Jr. (Barbara L. Allen); brother, Scott D. Allen (Karen L. Allen); five nephews; and several very good friends. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. EST Wednesday, Feb. 25, at the Live Oak, Florida, Cemetery on US 129 South. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Diabetes Association , P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
