Annie Gibb Allen was born July 14, 1924 to David Thomas Gibb and Sarah Rebecca Mendenhall in Cardston, Canada and passed away peacefully April 1, 2007 at her home in Burbank, WA. She enjoyed a wonderful life surrounded by her family and friends. Through most of her life she was involved on family farms in Canada, Ellensburg, Ephrata, Quincy and Mattawa. Always fully involved, she worked with livestock, irrigation and farm equipment offering her strength, consistency and unwavering commitment. In life, her needs were simple, lessons well learned from the Great Depression. Frugality and provident living became her watchwords. She enjoyed gardening and home food storage. From her well-stocked pantry she fed her family wholesome and nourishing food. In their later years, Paul and Annie shared much time together gardening and working in the yard. As a child of eight, Annie was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her love of God and His Gospel have influenced her thoughts and actions throughout her life. In December 1948 she married Paul "L" Allen in the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple. She is survived by her husband Paul, a sister Retta Brashear and three brothers, Raeford, Jesse and Byron Gibb. Of the eight children born to Paul and Annie, those surviving are: David (Eyvon) Allen; Clint (Patrecia) Allen; Susan (Lynn) Sant; Lois (Jay) Meeker; Beth (Joe) Skeen; Vern (Michele) Allen and Lewis (Michelle) Allen. Annie was preceded in death by a son, Ross Allen. Currently Paul and Annie have 33 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. For them, a rich and full harvest. Funeral services will be held Saturday April 7, 2007, at 10:00AM in Burbank at the LDS Chapel on Lake Road. There will be a viewing preceding the funeral at 9:00 AM.
