Harvey Hugh Joiner married Miss Daysie Virginia Hawley on 7 July 1897 at Honey Grove, Texas.

Services were conducted at the Methodist Church in Newcastle for Dr. H.H. Joiner, 65, who was the first dentist in Newcastle. Rev. J.L. Oliver officiated the services with Rev. I.W. Lane assisting. Dr. Joiner grew up in Union Grove [now Harmon] near Honey Grove. He graduated from Honey Grove High School and entered dental school in Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated in 1896. He returned to Honey Grove where he began his first practice. Dr. Joiner moved to Newcastle in March 1911 from Honey Grove, Texas. Survivors: wife; three sons; five daughters; a brother; a sister; 14 grandchildren.

The death certificate and funeral home records show born in Arkansas. His Obituary shows born in Honey Grove, Texas. The confusion could be in the fact that his father, Dr. C.J. Joiner moved from Arkansas in 1872 to Texas.
