He graduated from Navarro High School.

Entered U.S. Army Air Corps in 1943, trained at Camp Wolters, Amarillo Air Field, Sheppard Field, Ft. Myers, Florida, and Barksdale Field, La.

He served in World War II.

Has Air Medal for service in England and France.
