FORMER FLORENCITE BURIED HERE MONDAY
Last rites for the late James Newell Allen, 55, of Denver, were held Monday in the Holt Chapel with the Rev. F. A. Napier of the Methodist Church officiating.
Mr. Allen was born in Coal Creek on August 9, 1891, and later moved to Denver where he has resided for 23 years and was in the repair business. He was married to Bessie Bell on June 22, 1925, who still survives him.
Mr. Allen died in Denver on Aug. 28th of a cerebral hemorrhage and his body was shipped from Denver for burial here. Interment was in the Union Highland cemetery.
during the ceremony the Holt Quartet sang "Sometime We'll Understand," and "The Old Rugged Cross."
Pall bearers were James Davis, Dan Lewis, Bob Angel, John Evans, James Hay7s and Thomas Winans.
Others surviving him besides his wife are five sisters, Mrs. Jessie Clark of Olney Springs; Mrs. Lizzie Kissel of Rockvale; Mrs. Dollie Goldsby of Florence; Mrs. May Clatfelter of Pueblo, and Mrs. Lillie McBeth of Grand Junction, and one brother, Tomas Allen of California.
