Visitation will be from 5 – 7pm Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will be at 10am Friday at St. Jude Catholic Church, Pearl followed by a graveside service at Hazlehurst Cemetery at 12pm.
Mrs. Allen was a graduate of University of Alabama. She worked for the Department of Agriculture and also for several years with her sisters, Lou Atwood and Joyce Burt at Lou's Dress Shop in Pearl. Mrs. Allen loved God, was a devout Catholic and member of St. Jude Catholic Church, and she loved poetry.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ned and Molly Groves; husband, Orval Richard Allen; sisters, Joyce Burt and Lou Atwood; son, Russell Allen; and nephew, Joe Atwood.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Allen Quenneville and fiance George Paderewski; grandson, Huston Watts; nieces, Cyndy Berg, Marcie Neal, and Pat Stafford; and nephews, Billy Atwood and Blake Vanderford.
