Funeral services for Mrs. Chandley Nadeene Allen will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, November 11, 2005 in the chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville with Reverends David Kimsey, David Roberts and Sam Russell officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball.
Mrs. Allen, 45, of Bentley, known affectionately as Candy, entered God's open arms November 8, 2005 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria.
Mrs. Allen was a 1978 graduate of Dry Prong High School and a 1990 graduate of Louisiana State University at Alexandria where she received her degree in nursing. She was a member of Sanctuary of Praise Pentecostal Church of Pineville, and a member of their choir, where she loved to fellowship and sing Gods praises.
Candy was a disabled American Veteran, who served in the United States Navy as a flight line fireman. She worked for many years as a nurse in oncology and home hospice for Rapides Regional Medical Center, also as director for Kid Med Services of Alexandria.
Candy was born August 23, 1960 at Baptist Hospital, Alexandria to Henry and Rosa Bledsoe, of Bentley. She is the granddaughter of Ruthie Evelyn Johnson Bledsoe, of Bossier City and David Franklin and Maxine Jordan McCartney of Alexandria and to the late Everett Bledsoe.
Candy is survived by her husband Larry A. Allen; her three children, Tiffany S. Harker of Bentley, Neithan G. Allen and wife, Erin of High Level Alberta, Canada and Lara L. Lundgren and husband, Larry of Modesto, California. Her children were precious to her and were always placed before her own wants and needs.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving brother, Everett D. Bledsoe of Bentley; two granddaughters, Amber and Breanna Lundgren, of Modesto, California and the many aunts, uncles and cousins of her extended family. The countless friends Candy had made and always held dear to her heart throughout her full but short life. Candy will be cherished in memory by her husband, for the Lord says: 'Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up.
Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; but how can one be warm alone.' Ecclesiastes 4:9-11
Visitation will be from 5-9 pm Thursday, November 10, 2005 and from 8 am until time of services Friday at Hixson Brothers, Pineville.
Memorials may be made to Sanctuary of Praise Pentecostal Church, 1701 Expressway Drive, Pineville, LA 71360.
