Daniel William Allen, Danny Bill as most people knew him, was born on July 20, 1951 and passed away on December 15, 2014 at St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky after an extended illness. He was the son of Loretta Allen and the late Hallard Allen of White Oak, Kentucky. He married Linda Hicks, on July 22, 1972 and together they had two daughters Danielle Lewis (Dwayne) and Rebecca Allen (Justin). He loved these boys as his sons. Grandchildren are Morgan and Logan Lewis, Braxton and Gavin Russell, and John William Gibbs. He leaves two sisters Myra Lykins (Larry) and Lisa Whitt (Ritchie). His nieces are Larissa Nickell, Hannah Fugate, and Robin Robbins. His nephews are Isaac Fugate and Trevor Lykins. His special cousins Carol Price, Debbie Mayse, and Beverly Johnson. A special friend Mike Griffitts, the brother he never had and special brother-in-law Estill Hicks. Danny became a member of the White Oak Christian Church on February 21, 1999. He was one of the founders of the White Oak Fire Department and served as treasurer until recent months. He served as a Director on the Morgan County Farm Bureau board of directors. He attended Morehead State University and the University of Tennessee. He was employed by the Kentucky Department of Vocational Rehabilitation for 34 years. Funeral Service 1 p.m., Thursday, December 18, 2014, at the White Oak Christian Church with Reverend Jim Price, Reverend Gerard Howell, Jack Cline, & John Crouch officiating. Burial to follow in the Allen Cemetery, White Oak, KY. Visitation 6 p.m., Wednesday at the Potter Funeral Home. Pallbears: David Adkins, Michael Griffitts, Darrell Gibbs, Carl Hall, Allan Joe Gullett, Jack Cline, Randy Williams, and Scotty Johnson. Honorary Pallbears: Dr. & Mrs. Thomas Newcomb and Staff and the White Oak Fire Department. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the White Oak Christian Church c/o Janis Williams and the White Oak Fire Department c/o Wayne Tyree.
