Thelma Lee Allen, 89, died May 9, at her home in San Lorenzo, California with her family by her side. Mrs. Allen was born August 30, 1917, in West Virginia, to Myrtle and Ancel Sturm. She graduated from Morton Valley High School in 1934, and went on to college where she received her degree. She married Buddie Allen on November 16, 1939 in Kilgore, Texas. Thelma, her husband and 2 children came to California in 1956, and have lived in San Lorenzo since that time. She worked at Kaiser Permanente for 27 years as a switchboard operator. She was a devoted charter member of the Village Baptist Church for 50 years. She was a charming, elegant and graceful woman to whom there was nothing more important to her than her family. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ginny and Gary Dana of San Lorenzo; son and daughter-in-law, James and Cindy Allen of San Lorenzo; grandchildren Debra, and husband Sean Ramirez; Deanna and Jerry Maness; Don Dana, Nicky, Jenny and Jimmy Allen; great-grandchildren Trina Maness and fiance Jeff Heusler, Christie Maness, Alyssa and Tyler Ramirez, LeAnne and Kelly Dana; great-great grandchildren Katelyn, Lelanny and Annalisa, all of San Lorenzo. Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband, Buddie Allen. Visitation is on Monday, May 14th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sorenson Bros. Mortuary, 1140 B Street, Hayward. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday, May 15 at Village Baptist Church, 1535 Bockman Rd., San Lorenzo, CA at 11:00 am with interment at Lone Tree Cemetery, Hayward, CA. Sorenson Bros.
