Our dearly loved family matriarch Louise Randall Allen, having completed her earthly mission passed away at home with her daughter by her side on April 11, 2013 in Holladay, Utah. She is now reunited with her eternal companion and other countless loved ones. She was a long-time resident of Delta, Utah and recently relocated to Holladay with her daughter Sherida, who has been her loving companion and caretaker for many years.
Louise was born January 30, 1921 in Caliente, Nevada, but spent her childhood and young adult years in Enterprise, Utah – the fifth of ten children of Henry and Mary Randall. She spoke often of the wonderful and fulfilling life she had as a child, doing everything from tending the younger children to helping grow and "can" just about anything and everything the family ate.
She and her true love, David Verl Allen were married on December 5, 1945 in Sutherland, Utah; later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on June 29, 1951. This union was blessed with three children, David Randall, Sherida, and Arnold Paul. She was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and in her younger years held several callings including Relief Society President and Primary President. She had a quiet faith in her Heavenly Father and her Savior.
Widowed just twenty years into her marriage, Louise moved briefly to Richfield, Utah to complete her cosmetology degree, then back to Delta where she owned and operated "Louise's Beauty Box" for more than twenty years. She had a warm and special relationship with the many ladies she cared for as customers as well as those she employed. We may never know the exact tonnage in fresh garden vegetables these ladies and friends exchanged over the years, but it would surely be a wonderment! She took great delight in the dear friendships she established and maintained throughout her life, giving and taking advice on everything from raising children to losing loved ones; but, perhaps most often, on how the Utah Jazz should have played last night!
Louise had so many talents it would be impossible to list them, but she was an amazing cook and gardener; a wonderful golfer (who famously had a hole in one on number 8 at Sunset View Golf Course, which she named via her granddaughter's prize-winning entry); and she was a loyal friend. We are certain somewhere, somehow ‘ole Beulah, Pearl and Louise are trying to get some kind of pass to come down temporarily from heaven to play at least 18 more holes of golf, or another hand of bridge with the gals.
She is survived by her children: David Randall (Sue) of Gilbert, Arizona; Sherida Allen Parkinson of Holladay, Utah; and Arnold Paul (Suzanne) of St. George, Utah; as well as her brother Don Randall of Washington, Utah. She loved each and every one of her grandchildren with a special kind of love that each one, without question, thought surely they were her favorite! Her grandchildren: Corbin Allen, Andy (Connan) and Clinton (Alissa) all of Gilbert, Arizona. Kelly Kennedy Davis, Marla Kennedy, Russell Allen Kennedy, Jerrold Max (Brooke) Kennedy of Salt Lake City, Utah. Mehgan Dellinger, Jennifer (Steve) Slack, Erica Jensen of Salt Lake City, Utah; Ashlynn (Colby) Mitchell of Orem, Utah; Derek Paul Allen (Stevie) of Layton, Utah. Also survived by her 26 great grandchildren.
We haven't a doubt of any kind that a long awaited and joyous reunion is taking place as Louise is reunited with so many who preceded her in death, including her beloved husband David Verl Allen; her parents; brothers Willard, Charles, Louis, Harry, and Dan; sisters Marie, Carol, and Ida and countless other friends and loved ones. Also two very special men in her heart: her grandson Jordan James Allen and grandson-in-law, Clint Scott Davis.

"Mom, we love you more than we could ever express in words. You were not just the glue that held this family together, but the provider of endless love and guidance which saw us through difficult times. You also rejoiced in each one of our small and large victories. The void you leave on this earth cannot be filled, but we will press on always trying to exemplify the goodness and kindness you exhibited until we meet again."
