MRS. ALLEN RITES TODAY.

Widow of Dr. E. G. Allen Lived in Shreveport All Her Life.

Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Carrie Carter Allen at 9 a. m. today in the Osborne chapel. Mrs. Allen, 76, who devoted most of her lifetime to work at local tuberculosis sanitariums, died at 9 a.m. Saturday after an illness of about two months.

The Rev. McNair Smith, pastor of Cedar Grove Presbyterian church, will conduct services and burial will be in Oakland cemetery.

Mrs. Allen was the widow of the late Dr. E. G. Allen of Shreveport. The daughter of the late Judge and Mrs. L. E. Carter, she had lived in Shreveport all her life. Mrs. Allen was a life-long member of the Presbyterian church and had been active in First Presbyterian church work until a few years ago.

Survivors include six nieces, Mrs. W. K. Henderson, 4120 Fairfield avenue, Mrs. Floyd R. Hodges, 640 Dudley drive, Mrs. L. C. Gardner of Fort Worth, Mrs. Bettie Belle Hotchkiss, Mrs. F. B. Matthews and Mrs. A. B. Landis of Los Angeles; and one nephew, Guy Carter of Dallas.

Pallbearers include Jack Rust, Lovick Thomason, D. A. Kessler, W. P. Leonard, H. H. Bain, Jr., and Felix Rives, Jr.
