Survivors include his wife, Rebecca M. Allen; son, Ed (Mary Ann) Allen Jr., Centre; daughter, Pam (Richard) Howland, Peachtree City, Ga.; stepson, David (Mary) Miller; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Allen was a native of Memphis, Tenn., the son of the late Harry and Annie Coffey Allen and was a veteran of World War II. A graduate of Auburn University, he was a member of the Auburn University Golden Eagle Club and served on the Agricultural Advisory Board. He was the retired owner of Allen Inc., Centre, after 57 years in business, was past president of the National Farm & Power Equipment Dealers Association and was inducted into the Alabama Agricultural Hall of Fame.
Mr. Allen was a member of the Centre First Baptist Church, the Carpenters for Christ, the Lions Club and the Lozahatchee Masonic Lodge.
