George Grover Allen, 74, of Wichita Falls, Texas, died Monday, January 4, 1999, in a local hospice center.

Mr. Allen was born December 27, 1924, in Wichita Falls. He served as Chief Petty Officer in the Navy during World War II and was discharged in 1945.

He was a member of the Archer City First Baptist Church and Faith Masonic Lodge No. 1158 AF & AM. He was a retired contractor and home builder.

He was a lifetime resident of Wichita Falls. His wife, Dorrethea, died January 16, 1985. A son, Pat Allen, died August 30, 1980.

Survivors include a son, a daughter, three sisters, a brother, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were at 2 P.M. Wednesday, January 6, 1999, in Crestview cemetery with Reverend Roger Deerinwater, pastor of Archer City First Baptist Church, and Reverend Chad Stubblefield, pastor of Mankins Baptist Church, officiating.
