Lee Roy Allen, 71, of Arlington went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at his residence in Arlington. Funeral: 2 p.m. Sunday at New World United Methodist Church in Arlington, the Rev. Mike Alexander officiating. Interment: Moore Memorial Park in Arlington under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home of Galveston. Visitation: The family will receive visitors at 1 p.m. Sunday at the church. Pallbearers will be Jack Chambers of Arlington, Roger Hall of Azle, Nicholas Luft of Keller, Ray Mueller of Arlington, Jason Perkins of Grand Prairie and Hank Plummer of Arlington. Lee was born Feb. 27, 1942, in Fort Worth to T.B. Kenneth Allen and Dovie Elizabeth Barton Allen. He was a truck driver by trade and had a passion for woodworking and Southern gospel music. Of greatest importance to Lee was his faith in the Lord and the love of his family. Survivors: His wife of 39 years, Phyllis Elaine Rhodes Allen; daughters, Emily Thomason of Saginaw, Ashley Perkins and husband, Jason, of Grand Prairie and Kelley Allen of Arlington; granddaughter, Genevieve Thomason of Saginaw; grandson, Lincoln Perkins of Grand Prairie and granddogs, Kokomo Allen and Snickers Perkins; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
