She was a born-again Christian and was a member of West View Missionary Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Tennessee Eastman, Munal Clinic, Holston Valley Hospital, and was employed with the City of Kingsport as a nurse when she retired due to her health.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J. Allen (USN – Ret.); four sisters, Dorothy Brown, Margaret (Raymond) Forbes, Alberta (Paul) Dickens Fleming (Emza), and Helen (Monk) Eaton Morton; brother, Robert J. Harlan (Vickie) Barnette and family, Indiana, the Curtis Reece family; all cousins attending the Wallen and Barnette reunion, noting how much they were enjoyed; and dear cousin Lisa Barnette (Dave) Morelock, who started it all.

God has been so good to me. He also sent me lots of angels; my great and dear neighbors, Glenda and Kenneth Tate, Brenda and Gary Sizemore, Tonya and Brian Tate and their three children (my three "sweeties"); Edna (Lawrence) Hatcher and daughters, Linda Skelton, Margarie and Rev. Ronnie Grimes and families; the late Maude and Landon Eaton and family; the late Wiley and Agnes Vaughn; my rock for several years, Norma (H.K.) Stapleton, Trey and Bobbie Joe; my good friend, Paula Kendrick, all my friends on Riverside Avenue, West View, West View School, Sullivan High and Nursing; my red wagon buddy, W.S. Edens, my wonderful Pastor, Mike Stout, and my church family at West View Missionary Baptist Church. Each one holds a special place in my heart and gave me lots of great memories.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 19, 2006, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Services will be at 7:00 PM in the Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel at Oak Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Stout, Rev. Harlan Barnette, and Rev. Bill Ball officiating. Music will be provided by the Barnette Family, great-nephew, David Mintz, and dear friend, James Jenkins, who will sing one of Conway Twitty's songs.) The family will have visitation on Thursday, July 20, 2006 from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM with committal service at 12:00 in Oak Hill Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 2680, North Canton, OH, 44720, in honor of my sisters, Helen and Dorothy, or to The American Cancer, C/O Wanda Grills, 1217 Radcliffe Avenue, Kingsport, TN 37660 in honor of my sister and myself, or to the Wegener's Granulomatosis Association, in honor of dear friend and neighbor, Lawrence Hatcher.

I want to thank each and every one of you for the flowers, gifts, cards, food, calls, and prayers. Each was very much appreciated. My thanks also to Dr. Daryl Pierce, Dr. London, Dr. Brock, and their staff for the love and support they have given me.

May God bless and keep each of you. I will see you in Heaven. Love, Romelda.
