Florence A. Rutter, 91, of North Wilmington, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2011 at the Milton and Hattie Kutz Home after a long illness. She was the wife of Charles C. Rutter who passed away in 1996 after 39 years of marriage.
Born in Wilmington, she was the daughter of the late: Charles A. and Mary E. Galetto Allegretto. Florence was a 1939 graduate of P.S. DuPont H.S. and was employed by Sayer Bros. Cleaning Co., DuPont and retired after 16 years of service at Strawbridge and Clothier. She was a devoted mother, devout Christian and enjoyed cooking, tap dancing and ballet.
Florence is survived by her children: William A."Buzz" Stoddart, Linda MacLeod (Kenneth); grandchildren: Kimberly H. Drutchal (Jay), Kenneth MacLeod, Jr. (fiancé Nicole); sister: Emily "Mimi" Lewis (Robert); cousin: Gwendolyn Walls.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday March 10, 2011 at Latter Day Missionary Baptist Church, 520 W. 32nd St., Wilmington where the family will receive guests starting at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
