Miss Allebaugh's Funeral Tuesday

Miss Margaret C. Allebaugh, 63 a beloved nurse who had ministered to hundreds of
patients in this area and who served as an Army Nurse In World War I, died at
6:30 yesterday morning at McGuire General Hospital, Richmond.

Miss Allebaugh had been a patient in Richmond since March and earlier was a
patient at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

She had been ill for some time. She was one of the early graduates of the
Rockingham hospital school of nursing and wasnactive in the alumnae for many
years. She had taken post-graduate work in New York City hospital and kept apace
with the advancement of medical science. She had wide acquaintance in the
professional field.

Miss Allebaugh nursed frequently at Rockingham Memorial Hospital and has been
active in Red Cross work.

In recent years she had been residing in the Lee Long home on East Market St.
She was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church.

Miss Allebaugh was born at Lacey Springs March 28, 1891, being a daughter of the
late Michael A, and Sarah Yancey Allebaugh.

When her father became stricken after moving to Harrisonburg, Miss Allebaugh
gave up her other duties to care for him. She also cared for her mother until
her death.

She returned to private nursing about three years ago.

She is survived by a nephew, Paul M. Allebaugh, and a grand nephew, Paul
Michael, of Lacey Springs.

A brother, Samuel A. Allebaugh died in Washington last February.

Funeral services will be held from the Episcopal Church here, Tuesday morning at
eleven o'clock with her pastor Rev. Ward McCabe officiating.

Burial will be in the Woodbine Cemetery.

The pallbearers will be William L. Yancey, C.R. Allebaugh, James Acker, Henry
Bowman, Joe O. Wenger, George Harnsbarger, Delmar Hassler and Jake Terry.

The body will remain at the Rhodes funeral home at Broadway until 9:30 Tuesday
morning when it will be placed in the church here to lie in state.

Relatives , pallbearers and friends are asked to meet at the church at 10:45
