Herman Alitz was born in Alma, WI the son of William and Bertha (Schultz) Alitz of Germany. He married Alvira Mae Moore on 13 Nov 1909. They had six children: Melvida, Marie Jane, Bobby, Leona, Anna and Fremont.

HERMAN ALITZ

Herman Alitz, 96, died early Sunday morning at Mount Washington nursing home where he had resided for several years. He was born in Alma and farmed in that area before coming to Eau Claire in 1926. He worked for Uniroyal and Sterling Pulp and Paper until he retired in 1939. Survivors include a son, Fremont, Eau Claire, and three daughters, Mrs. Arthur Rossow, Edinburg TX, Mrs. John Polaski, Milwaukee, Mrs. Ray Starin, Eau Claire, five grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stokes and Sons Chapel with the Rev. Henry G Clark officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
