Jose Edumenio Alires, 71, passed away June 21, 1991 at a Salt Lake City hospital.

Born April 21, 1920 in El Rito, New Mexico, to Victrvo and Gorgonia Archuleta Alires.

He married Dora Chavez July 5, 1944 in Parkview, New Mexico. Member, Catholic Church, avid hunter especially bear, sheepherder and miner for U.S. Mines.

Survived by his wife, Dora of West Valley; children, Benny, Felix, Robert Toby, Joe G., Lucille G. Lozano, Consuelo A. Lutz, Lorraine Fonseca, Priscilla Mullen, Emily A. Asher, Irene Alires, all Salt Lake area; 23 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Pete of El Rito, New Mexico; Willie of West Jordan; Celina Gallegos, Rosa Chacon, Aggie Garcia, all of Pueblo, Colo.; Mary Cole of Salt Lake City; Tiofila Martinez of Midvale; Bennina Slife of California. Preceded in death by brother, Ben.

Funeral mass will be held Monday, June 24, 1991, 10 a.m., at Saint Theresa Catholic Church, 112 Allen St., Midvale, Utah, where friends may call Sunday, 6-8 p.m. and Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary and Cemetery.
