Vivian M. (Alioth) Gingrich, age 85, of Erie,PA, died Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Golden Living-Western Reserve. She was born on February 8, 1924 in Erie, the daughter of the late John G. and Mae (Eichler) Alioth. She was a lifelong resident of Erie and worked for the Boston Store and Halles Department Store. Following her marriage, she dedicated her time to being wife, mother, and homemaker. Vivian was a 1942 graduate of Strong Vincent High School. She was also a member of the Woman's Club of Erie, the Erie Philharmonic Chorus, the Jamestown Choral Society, and enjoyed a few summers singing with the regional choir at Chautauqua, N.Y.

Besides her parents, her aunt, Louise Alioth, and a step granddaughter, Lindsay R. Moore preceded her in death. Vivian is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert L. Gingrich, a son, Bruce R. Gingrich, and his wife, Cecily, a daughter, Barbara E. Moore, and her husband, Carl, and a step grandson, Timothy C. Moore. Private burial will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4126 Sterrettania Rd. Memorial contributions may be made to Because You Care, Inc., P.O.
