The son of German immigrants, "Henry" was born in Rull, Germany. He was brought to America by his parents when he was 2 months old.
Henry was a tenant farmer on land owned by Francis Marshall. Henry later married married Elsie Watters, the granddaughter of Francis Marshall. Henry and Elsie were the parents of 3 children.
At the time of his death at his home on Fruit Ridge, Henry was 88 years, 8 months and 30 days old. He was survived by his wife, Elsie; 2 daughters, Angelus Pearson of Pearl, Pike County, Illinois, and Martha T. Aling; and 1 son, John Aling, who lived with his parents.
Funeral services were conducted on the morning of 11 Apr 1949 at St. Norbert's Catholic Church in Hardin. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Henry's only son, John, died in 1966 and was buried next to him. Henry's wife, Elsie, passed away in 1969.
