Mrs. Anna Alig Dies at Her Home.
Mrs. Anna Alig, 71 years old, 1230 Ottawa street, died at 1 o'clock Sunday morning at the family residence, following an illness of several months. Mrs. Alig was born in Columbia, Pa., May 30, 1862, and had been a resident of Leavenworth for the past 50 years.
Surviving are her husband, Charles J. Alig, of the home; four sons, Elmer A., Ernest E., and George A. Alig, all of Leavenworth and Charles V. Alig, of Shoehome Fall, Ida.; one brother, Peter Alig, rural route No 4, Leavenworth, and five grandchildren.
Mrs. Alig was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church and the Alter Society. She had a wide circle of friends and was held in high esteem by all who knew her.
The Altar Society assembled at the residence at 3 o'clock this afternoon for recitation of the rosary and the Knights of Columbus will meet at 8 o'clock this evening.
The body was removed Sunday afternoon from the O'Connell funeral chapel to the residence to lie in state until Tuesday morning when a requiem mass will be celebrated at 9 o'clock at St. Joseph's church, the Rev. Father Brocard Koehler officiating. Burial will be on the family lot in Mount Calvary cemetery.
