Chester Algood, 76, of Searcy, Ark., died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001.
He was born in Bradford, Ark., May 26, 1924, the son of Charlie and Pearl Ferguson Algood. Mr. Algood was retired from Chevron Chemicals as a pipe fitter and was a member of Trinity Full Gospel Church.
Surviving are his wife, Luella Waggel Algood; sons, Don Algood of Texas, Ronnie Algood of California, Ricky Algood of Fountain Inn, Steve Algood of California, and Dennis Algood of Dallas, Texas; daughters, Brenda Arnold of California, Linda Baney of Jonesboro, Ark., Retha Shook of Beebe, Ark., Marie Crotts of New Mexico, Sherry Hancock of Piedmont, Chris Glowski and Sue Summers of Judsonia, Ark.; two brothers, Marvin and Lynard Algood of Bald Knob, Ark.; 33 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mae Bell Baldwin Algood and his parents, two brothers, two daughters and a grandson.
Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cannon Funeral Home in Fountain Inn.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
