A funeral for Gene Cole Alger of McMinnville will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the First Assembly of God Church, McMinnville, with the Rev. Marion Ravan officiating.
Mrs. Alger died of cancer Aug. 17, 2001, in her home. She was 83.
She was born March 13, 1918, in Missouri.
She later moved to California and worked as accounting manager at the University of California, San Francisco. She retired in 1979.
She and Wayne Alger were married May 11, 1979, in San Francisco.
Mrs. Alger had lived in McMinnville for the past 14 years. With her husband, she was an active leader in the seniors' ministry of the First Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Richard Pierce of Fremont, Calif., and Robert Pierce of Middletown, Calif.; a daughter, Lynette Rose of Half Moon Bay, Calif.; two stepsons, Larry Alger of Long Beach, Calif., and Mike Alger of Huntington Beach, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Linda Rodriguez of Tillamook and Janice Alger, also of Huntington Beach; and a grandchild.
Arrangements are under the direction of Neptune Cremation Service, Portland.
