Betty J. Alger, 64, of Rutland, died Monday evening, June 13, 2011, at the Rutland Regional Medical Center, following a long illness.
She was born on April 11, 1947, in Colchester, the daughter of Eldon and Ardelle (Machia) Alger.
Ms. Alger had been a longtime resident of Brandon and Rutland.
She had been employed at the Cortina Inn for many years prior to her retirement due to her failing health.
Mrs. Alger enjoyed country music and spending time at the ocean.
She was a member of Christ the King Church and the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include a son, Barry J. Alger and his wife Rebekah of Rutland; a sister, Nancy Stevens of Chippenhook; three brothers, Leonard Alger of Pittsford, Allen Alger of Orwell and Mark Alger of Rutland; two grandsons, Caleb and Joshua; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a grandson, Nathan J. Alger, in 1997.
Memorial services are pending at Christ the King Church.
