Mrs. Laura Belle Alger, 88, widow of David Franklin Alger, died Saturday morning in the Page Memorial Hospital.
Born December 26, 1871, Mrs. Alger died on her eighty-eighth birthday.
She was the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Mary Rhinehart Campbell.
She was a member of the Newport United Church of Christ.
She is survived by a daughter Mrs. Grover Stoneberger, of Stanley; five sons, Solon J. Alger and Hubert Alger, of Stanley, Milton A. Alger and Hugh L. Alger, of Hagerstown, Md., and Cletus W. Alger, of Monaco, Pa.;
a brother, Ambrose Campbell, of Timberville, a sister, Mrs. David Price, of Luray; twenty-five grandchildren; forty-eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
The body was removed from the Warren G. Kyger Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m. Monday to the United Church of Christ at Newport to be in state until two o'clock when the funeral services were conducted by Rev. John Henderson and Rev. Kenneth Graft.
Burial took place in the Alger family Cemetery.
