Alford, A. Travis—Retired owner and operator of 190 Auto Supply and a resident of Denham Springs, [Livingston Parish] he died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at his home. He was 79 and a native of Magnolia, Miss. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, having served in the 485th Bomber Group as a gunner on B-24's. Visitation at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday. Visitation at First Baptist Church, Magnolia, Miss., from 11 a.m. until service at 1 p.m. Friday. Burial in Magnolia City Cemetery.
Survived by his wife, Hilda R. Alford of Denham Springs; two sons, Randy Alford of Orono, Maine, and Rick Alford of Denham Springs; a sister, Robbie Harris of Houston; two half-sisters, Mary and Shirley; and four grandchildren, Travis, Elliot and Olivia Alford, all of Orono, and Monica Alford of Watson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Eugene Alford; mother, Vera Alford; a sister, Jean Hannula; a half-sister, Janie Roberts; a half-brother, Joe Alford; grandparents, Albert Alford and Linnie Dean Alford.
He was a member of Denham Springs Lodge 297, F&AM, and was a former Mason and Shriner.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
