Alford, Adele Magee—A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she passed away Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2005, at Landmark Nursing Home at the age of 91. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Saturday, Nov. 19, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m.... Graveside service at Robert Cemetery, Kentwood, at 2 p.m. Saturday.
She is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Gayle Watts of Baton Rouge and Lana Alford and Grady Ridgedell of Maurepas; two grandchildren and their spouses, Jimmy and Sandee Henson of Baker and Tamara and Gerald Pichon of Watson; six great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jamie, Brandi, Jason, Tyler and Trey; and brother, Robert "Nookie" Magee of Franklinton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynell "Boots" Alford; sister, Kathleen Johnson; and seven brothers.
Mrs. Alford was a native of Sunnyhill, a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, and a retired school bus driver with 31 years of service for the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. She was a charter member of Winbourne Avenue Baptist Church.
