Edward Ray "Maynard" Alford, age 70, of Glen St. Mary, Florida passed away on December 29, 2013 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. He was born in Sanderson, FL on June 18, 1943 to the late Son Alford and Evelyn Davis. Maynard was a lifelong resident of Baker County and a longtime member of the Dinkins New Congregational Methodist Church. He served in the United States Navy and retired after many years of dedicated service as Truck Driver from Kennedy Trucking. Maynard enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly. Maynard was preceded in death by his loving wife of 35 years, Deborah Iris Alford; his brother, Cecil Alford; his sister, Carolyn Price; and his grandson, Jason.
Maynard is survived by his loving children, Patsi (Marty) Kelly, Tony Ray (Veronica) Alford, Teresa Alford Jordon, Jon Theophile, Frank Theophile, Thomas Edward (Kelly) Alford and Brandi Ray Estep; his sister, Virginia Ann Musgrove; his 24 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday January 1, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Dinkins New Congregational Methodist Church with Pastors Tim Alford and Allen Crews officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 from 12:00 – 2:00 pm at the church.
