Carmel Antoinette Alfafara Guesno, 84, of Swansboro, died Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. Born in Newport, (?) CT, on June 11, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Gasper and Odette Labuos Alfafara. She worked as a caregiver and was of the Catholic faith. Surviving are her daughter, Deborah Cassidy of Swansboro; three sons, Robert Leach of Memphis, TN, Ronald Leach of Colleyville, TX, Richard Leach of Monroe Falls, OH; a brother, Gerald Alfafara of Missouri; two sisters, Angela Devlin of La Palma, CA, Odette Safranek of Laughlin, NV; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6 pm until 8 pm at Jones Funeral Home, Swansboro. Funeral services will be Noon Saturday in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home, Swansboro, with Reverend Donald Baribeau officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Park, Morehead City.
