Iris Dake, 89, of rural Dixon, died Thursday, April 12, 2012, at her residence near Dixon.

Born November 15, 1922, at Iberia, a daughter of Melvin
Andrew and Cora Arlene (Blankenship) Alexander, Married January 1, 1947, at Dixon, to Farris Dake.

She was a member of the Dixon Church of Christ, Dixon and was a housewife and homemaker for all her working life.

Survivors: Her husband Farris Dake of the home near Dixon Four Children, Roger Dake and wife Lorie, Spring City, Tennessee Royce Dake and wife Cindy, Ulm, Montana Phyllis Smith and husband Larry, Columbia Gail Dake, Eldon 10 Grandchildren 10 Great-Grandchildren Two brothers, Edward Alexander, Campbell Junior Alexander, Dixon Two sisters, Donna Sisk, Blue Springs Marie Kavanaugh, Orillia Ontario, Canada

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 16, 2012 in the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2012 and 10 – 11 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2012 in the Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.

Memorials may be made to the Freedom Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund or the Charity of the Donor's choice with envelopes available at the Dixon Office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
