A native and resident of Baton Rouge, she passed away at 5:50 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013 at Baton Rouge General Mid City. She was 59 and a Homemaker. Visiting at Magnolia Baptist Church on Monday, Aug. 5 from 10 a.m. until religious service at noon, conducted by Rev. J. Bertell Davis. She is survived by her daughter, Amelia Herrera; son, Oscar Herrera; sisters, Gladys (Charles) Jones, Patricia Thomas and Mary (James) Queen; and brothers, Gordon (Mildred) Thomas, Henry C. (Edna) Thomas and Cornelius (Vanessa) Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon Thomas, Sr. and Elmena Thomas Givens; husband, Frank Alexander; and Hilda Guidry, Robert Thomas, Paul Thomas and Hilner E. Mary Williams.
