(nee Ward)
    Age 75, at rest Friday, September 22, 2000 suddenly at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center.
    Survived by a loving husband of 52 years, Wilbert Alexander; three daughters, Marilyn (Willie) Harris, Carolyn (Robert) Davis, Gwendolyn (Doncarl) Jackson; one son Jimmy Alexander; one adopted daughter Francis (Samuel) Stokes all of Joliet, IL. Ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren and one God daughter, Elaine Jones.
    Born May 22, 1925 in Raleigh, MS and a graduate of Scott County Training School (Forest, MS). Moved to Joliet in 1951 where she became a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and worked at Personal Products Company in Wilmington, IL until retirement.
    She was preceded in death by her parents King Edward Ward and Leona (Sherman) Brookins; one son Larry Alexander and one granddaughter Vanisha Alexander.
    Services for Ruth will be Friday, September 29, 2000 at 8:00 pm at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 1503 Arthur Ave., Joliet, IL. Rev. Clinton Wilburn, officiating. Visitation Friday, 2-5 pm at the funeral home and 7:00 pm at the church. Interment Saturday, September 30, 2000, 10:00 am, Elmhurst Cemetery, 1212 E. Washington St., Joliet, IL.
