Errol E. Alexander, a Lincoln soldier, was drowned in the old clay company gravel pit near Moorhead on Sunday. He had been stationed there since October 1927, at Seattle, Wash. and stationed at Ft. Lawton, Wash.
He was discharged from the Army on June 9, 1928, but immediately re-enlisted. He was a private in Co. M 4th Inf. His mother lives in Davenport, Iowa. He was prominent in boxing and other athletics besides being an excellent soldier.
He had recently left Ft. Lincoln on a 90-day furlough. He planned to visit friends in Gallup, New Mexico. He was swimming in the spring-fed pool with three close friends, when it is believed he was paralyzed by cramps.
