John Alexander and his wife (his 3rd marriage), Mary Louise Paxton, were married in Adams County in 1887. They had three children: Arthur Grover, Sophia E. and Minnie.
1900 Census - Northeast Twp - Adams Co, Illinois
Mary L. Alexander....45..Virginia
Arthur G. Alexander..11..Illinois
Sophia E. Alexander...9..Illinois
John passed away in 1911 and the remainder of the family went to Colorado for several years. In 1917, Arthur signed up for the military draft while living in Loveland, Colorado. At the time he was working for the Great Western Sugar Factory and supporting his mother and an invalid sister (which sister is not noted on his registration).
He died in Southampton, Hampshire, England in 1918. I'm trying to find if he was in the armed forces during WWI.
The entire family is buried here and memorialized on their headstone.
