Gernada Alexander, 89, of Lubbock passed away November 8th at Paris Healthcare Center in Paris with her daughter by her side. She died of Alzheimer's, which was diagnosed in 2005. She was born to Clarence and Pauline Underwood in Crystal, Okla., on March 30, 1919, and grew up in Lorenzo. Gernada was an insurance agent and secretary for 35 years.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Peggy and husband Don Gentry of Pattonville; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nine great great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jack Underwood of Oregon. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, Paul and Jake Underwood and Kathryn Hamilton. The family suggests in lieu of flowers to please give a donation to the Alzheimer Foundation.

Graveside services will 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at Resthaven Memorial Park with Dr. Ken Horn officiating.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov.11, 2008 at Resthaven Funeral Home.
