Rev. Frank Brooks, pastor of the First United Presbyterian church officiated the last rites.
Mr. Alexander was employed by Gulf Oil Co. for 29 years before retiring in 1961. He was employed by Pardue Oil Co. at the time of his death.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Oddfellows Lodge.
Survived by wife; two sisters - Mae Dorris and Minerva Waldron; two half-brothers - H.W. Alexander, Jr. and Steven Alexander; 19 nieces and nephews.
A daughter, Betty Ann Alexander died in 1936.
