PEKIN ~ Dale R. Alexander, 62, of Pekin, died at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2005 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born September 22, 1942 in Decatur to Joseph and Helen Shaffer Alexander, he married Beulah L. Watson Feilner on April 10, 1971 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are seven daughters, Carolyn (Randy) Skaggs and Betty (Brett) Wilkerson, both of Tremont, Brenda (Roger) Perrine of Delavan, Dianna (Loren) Breach of Secor, Brenda Feilner and Judy Hoyland, both of Pekin, and Cindy (Mark) Goeken of Green Valley; two sons, Glenn (Deborah) Feilner of Pekin and Rickey (Tammy) Feilner of Bedford, Indiana; nineteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Roberts of Decatur; and two brothers, Dewey (Irene) Rankin and David (Betty) Rankin, both of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandsons, and one sister.
He was a United States Navy veteran.
Mr. Alexander worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 30 years, retiring in 1994 as a post assembly repairman in East Peoria. In 1995, he began working part-time for the Pekin Park District in maintenance at the Lick Creek Golf Course in Pekin, last working in June 2005.
He formerly attended the Pekin First Church of the Nazarene and the North Pekin Church of the Nazarene. He bowled in the Monday night league at Roxy's in Pekin for several years.
He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and golfing.
Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Bob See will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Private burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery.
