CLINTON -- Dale Eugene Alexander, 62, Clinton, died at 12:43 a.m. Tuesday (July 25, 2006) at the family residence, Clinton.
His funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Pastor Myron Young officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, with military honors. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
He was born Aug. 18, 1943, at Peoria, to Herbert J. and Lavonne J. Smith Alexander. He married Carlone Grubbs on Oct. 14, 1972, at Pekin.
Surviving are his wife, Carlone; his mother, Lavonne J., Maroa; two sons, Joe (Carrie), Clinton and Jeff (Kristen), both of Clinton; one daughter, Melody (Jason), Springfield, Mo.; brothers and sisters, Pat, Lincoln; Marilyn, Maroa; Laura, Fort Myers, Fla.; Rosemary, Selina, Kan.; Scott, Clinton; and David, Maroa; and six grandchildren.
Dale was a 1961 graduate of Maroa-Forsyth High School and attended Calvary Bible College in Kansas City, Mo. He was veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1964-1968. He was an engineer for the Illinois Central/Canadian National Railroad for 43 years and collected model trains.
