Lorretta J. Alexander, 68, of rural Pottstown died at 11:25 a.m. Friday at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria, where she was a patient four days.
Born in Peoria County march 8, 1912, she was a daughter of Ben and Melinda Marie Johnson. She formerly was a cook at Bel-Wood Nursing Home, retiring in September 1978. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. John (Delores) Shank of Springtown, TX, Mrs. Harold (Darlene) Nelson of Peoria, Mrs. William (Linda) Bennett and Mrs. Sarah Jones, both of Bartonville, Mrs. Carl (Susan) Carver of Pottstown, and Nancy Alexander at home. Also surviving are three brothers, Ben Johnson of Pottstown, George Johnson of East Peoria, and Robert Johnson of Mackinaw, three sisters, Mrs. Marie Morefield, Mrs. Frank (Bernice) Hauk and Mrs. John (Johanna) Vicary, all of Peoria; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Two brothers preceeded her in death. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at Davison-Fulton-Western Chapel. Dr. Bertram Betteridge will officiate and burial will be in Pottstown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral chapel.
