Mrs. Anna Alexander, 66 a resident of Bellevue for the last 37 years, died at her home at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
Mrs. Alexander had been the operator if the A & W Root Beer stand in Bellevue since 1953. She was born at Lizika, Austria-Hungary, Oct.22,1903, a daughter of George and Mileva Sveyanof Ponicsan, and she married George Alexander in Pekin May 19,1919. He died in Peoria Nov.5,1959. She started in the grocery business with her husband when they were married fifty years ago.
Surviving are two sons, Richard at home and Arnold of Bellevue, three daughters,Helen G. at home,Mrs.Anita Heuermann of Peoria and Mrs. Zora Turnbaugh of Geneva,Il., one sister Mrs Kathryn Michael of Port Huron,Mich.,two brothers, August of Bellevue and Karolof Peoria. Eleven grandchildren. Two sons died in infancy and two brothers also preceded her in death.
