Cecil Dell Alexander, 86, formerly of Waco, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, in Denton, Texas. A visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 9, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, with a graveside service following at 2 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery.

Dell was born in Amherst, Texas, to the late Cecil and Jewel Trammell. She was a graduate of Hollis High in Oklahoma in 1945. Following graduation, Dell worked for the phone company in Hollis until 1954. She moved to Amarillo to work for Pioneer Natural Gas. While living in Amarillo she attended a singles event at First Baptist Church, where she met Bob Alexander, and they married on June 23, 1956. Dell and her family moved to Biloxi, Miss., in 1965, and then to Waco in 1968. She became a homemaker and a strong member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. She assisted in the international program, teaching skills and trades.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby L. Alexander; and brother, John Trammell.

Survivors include her son, Mark Alexander; daughter, Lisa Flenniken; grandchildren, Landon, Rachel, Jordan, Naleigh, and Paxton; sisters, Mary Walkup and husband, James, of Amarillo, Bennie Davis, of Amarillo, Jo Sutton, of Lubbock, and Shirley Gregersen and husband, Roland, of Hollis, Okla.; and many other relatives and friends.
